Super Start Colorado has identified a gap in inclusive best practices in the child care setting. Too many young children are being expelled and suspended for behaviors that can be eliminated through a supportive classroom. We want all early learning centers to feel empowered to support every student in their care, and know that they have to the tools to guide all students to experience a super start in school.
We are dedicated to increasing the effective child care workforce by supporting early childhood teachers through training, coaching, and implementation support.

Colorado Pyramid Model Training of Special Recognition in Colorado PDIS
This 50 hour training prepares participants to implement Pyramid model practices in their classroom. The Pyramid Model is a collaborative professional development system that fosters and sustains evidenced-based practices to support the social-emotional development and inclusion of children. The Colorado Pyramid Model Training is a 50-hour training series that supports early educators to recognize and reduce challenging behaviors in children while increasing positive behaviors. It also reduces stress, burnout, and turnover among existing early childhood educators and staff, keeping child care facilities open and operating. Participants who complete this training will receive a Training of Special Recognition badge in Colorado’s Professional Development Information System (PDIS) that opens various career development pathways.
This training for Early Childhood Educators will be starting in October 2024.
